Food Production
Farm Production
IAP farm production operation covers 3,000 hectares arable land in the agricultural heartland of northern Senegal. Phase 1 operations cover 900 hectares. IAP produces onion and corn (maize) crops on annual rotation with cover crops. Onion is a staple food product globally, well suited to production in Senegal. Corn is an import-substitution crop that supports local and regional poultry producers, reducing import costs and raising product quality. Cover crops protect and regenerate our soils.
IAP’s farm production operation creates up to 500 direct jobs and 3,500 indirect jobs locally in Phase 1. Managed by IAP Academy, our Community Contracts deliver measurable economic and social improvement through new infrastructure, installation of Tolou Keur (community vegetable gardens), education and health care facilities, herd feeding and watering stations, improved cattle grazing techniques, tree nurseries/planting and technical training initiatives.
Food Processing
Food Processing
IAP trades food produce from pre-selected African processors, sourcing raw produce from smallholder farmers pan Africa. Our pre-selected food processors collect raw material from smallholder farmers, delivered for processing at their facilities and packaged as a finished natural product for transportation to IAP customers. IAP ensures international food safety standards are met; all our partner processing plants are HACCP and BRC certified and FDA (USA) approved.
IAP aim is to continue to invest in and develop processing capacity in key countries pan Africa, thereby retaining value in the African country of raw-material origin, supporting the many thousand smallholder farmers who supply the raw produce.
